West Kensington, W14, is an area of West London. Fulham sits to the south, Shepherd’s Bush to the north, Hammersmith to the west, and Kensington to the east. West Kensington is largely residential, with rows of Victorian terraces, some of which are divided into flats. The area has a large number of purpose-built flats in addition to spacious flats in large, converted period properties.
West Kensington has a distinctly cosmopolitan vibe and boasts a diverse population. It is popular with students who want to be based near to their place of work or study. Most notably, it is home to Olympia London, a venue which hosts a range of international exhibitions and events, and The Queen’s Club, which is located close to Barons Court tube station.
Property in West Kensington and Barons Court have remained more affordable than in the neighbouring areas of Fulham and Kensington, but West Kensington is a highly-sought after area. Speciality shops and family-run restaurants thrive in the area, and the transport connections are good. West Kensington, Barons Court and Kensington (Olympia) are all on the District Line, and Barons Court is also connected to the Piccadilly Line. West Kensington and West Brompton provide links to London Overground.
